After a challenging first season under head coach Jim Johnston, Wabaunsee football will look to take the next step in 2025.
The Chargers finished 3-6 in 2024 and entered the postseason as the No. 13 seed in Class 1A East, falling to a talented Rossville team in the opening round, 47-13. With a year of experience under Johnston’s system, Wabaunsee returns to the field with an eye toward improvement this fall.
The Chargers open the season Sept. 5 on the road at Council Grove and will play four of their next five games at home, including key district matchups against West Franklin, Olpe, Cair Paravel and Mission Valley. Wabaunsee closes the regular season with a rematch at Rossville on Oct. 24.
