The RCPD is investigating two separate thefts reported over the weekend involving a stolen motorcycle and an electric bicycle, with combined losses totaling more than $8,000.

The first incident occurred on the morning of July 18th in the 900 block of Moro Street. Officers filed a report for theft after a 21-year-old man reported that his 2012 Harley Davidson motorcycle had been taken by an unknown suspect. The estimated loss in that case is approximately $6,000.

The second theft was reported in the early morning hours of July 20. Officers responded to the 1200 block of Kearney Street and filed a report for theft and criminal damage to property. A 22-year-old man told police that an unknown suspect damaged his bicycle lock and stole his Revi Cheetah electric bicycle. The estimated loss in that case is approximately $2,175.

Anyone with information about either incident is encouraged to contact the Riley County Police Department or Crime Stoppers. Tipsters using the Crime Stoppers service can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
