Riley County officials on Thursday approved funding for drug prevention programs for both community corrections and the health department.
The health department’s budget request for 2026 is $75,343. This includes much of a part-time community health educator’s salary and supplies such as educational materials, boxes of overdose reversal kits, fentanyl test strips, and other items. The 2026 community corrections request is $130,798 for the minimum needed to operate the Recovery Court program. This includes one full-time position and conflict attorney and defense attorney costs.
