Gov. Laura Kelly, community leaders and local residents gathered Thursday to celebrate the grand opening of the Flint Hills Community Accelerator and Childcare Business Initiative.

The facility, located at 2423 Kimball Ave., was created through collaboration between the Greater Manhattan Community Foundation, Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce and Ascension Via Christi.

The grand opening began with a ribbon cutting ceremony, and included speeches from officials involved with making the dream of these programs a reality.
