Authorities say one person is dead following a plane crash near Concordia Sunday evening.
According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, the crash involved a single-engine aircraft that took off from the Concordia airport shortly before 7:30 p.m. when a possible mechanical issue occurred. The plane lost altitude and nose dived into the ground.
The pilot, 76-year-old David Kadel, of Concordia, died at the scene.
