Riley County’s women, infants and children nutrition services at Fort Riley will find a new home this year.
On Thursday, Riley County health director Diane Creek said that by December WIC will move from its current location at the Irwin Army Community Hospital to Building 210.
“Months ago, WIC was sent an email that we owed $5,000 for a license to stay at the hospital on the base at Fort Riley,” Creek said. “We did a lot of negotiating. They want us on the base, there’s no doubt about it. They do want us to stay there, but there is some kind of rule that says there’s supposed to be a $5,000 license fee.”
