    MHS football set for anticipated clash at Free State

    Manhattan High football faces one of its most anticipated regular season games in recent memory Friday night, traveling to Lawrence Free State for a matchup loaded with intriuge.

    The Firebirds (1-0) opened 2025 with a statement, knocking off reigning Class 6A champion Gardner Edgerton — the same team that denied Manhattan in last year’s title game.
