A sexual encounter between the daughter of a police chief and her 13-year-old boyfriend has led to a tangled three-year legal battle between the parents, including a federal lawsuit, criminal charges, allegations of stalking and claims that the police chief abused the power of his office.
That legal odyssey appears to be at an end, or at least a stopping point, as the parents are settling the federal case.
This is all occurring in Council Grove, the town of 2,100 people 40 minutes south of Manhattan.
