Two people were hospitalized following a head-on crash Friday afternoon near the intersection of 4th Street and Fort Riley Boulevard, according to the Riley County Police Department.

Officers responded to the scene at approximately 4:14 p.m. on Oct. 17, where a 2011 GMC Terrain driven by Chassity Rathke, 49, of Council Grove, collided head-on with a 2019 Mercedes driven by Tiffany Massenburg, 40, of Manhattan. The collision occurred in a turn lane.

Both drivers sustained injuries and were transported to Ascension Via Christi Hospital for treatment. No citations were issued in connection with the crash.
