    Manhattan senior loses $1,250 in impersonation scam

    Riley County police are investigating a fraud case involving an elderly victim who was scammed out of $1,250 by individuals posing as federal agents.

    Officers filed the report at approximately 3:11 p.m. on Oct. 24 in the 1000 block of Westloop Place. According to the report, an 87-year-old man was contacted by unknown individuals who falsely claimed to be federal agents. The suspects allegedly threatened to close his bank accounts if he did not pay them.
