A Manhattan teen arrested in April in relation to two connected shootings at the end of 2024 has since turned 18 and is now being charged as an adult for his alleged crimes.

According to a document filed with the Riley County District Court, Dontaivious Amaru Temple is charged with two counts of attempted first degree murder, three counts of criminal damage to property valued $1,000 to $25,000, criminal discharge of a firearm into an occupied vehicle causing bodily harm and criminal use of weapons. He was previously held in the Northwest Kansas Juvenile Detention Center, but has now been transferred to the Washington County Jail.

Temple’s arrest was made as part of RCPD’s ongoing investigation into a robbery and shooting incident that took place Nov. 30 and Dec. 1. His new case is assigned to judge Grant Bannister, but his next court appearance will be Oct. 21 for preliminary examination status with Judge John McNish.

News Radio KMAN and The Mercury has previously reported on the incidents. Katrece Dawnnell Johnson, 39, of Manhattan, Dontreveon Stephon Temple-McGlory, 21, of Topeka, Delron Tyree Jr., 17, of Topeka and Victor Fuentes Jr., 20, of Compton, California, were also arrested in April and Clayson Joyce, 22, of Manhattan was arrested in January in connection with the shootings.

Across both incidents, four adults were shot and taken to Via Christi Hospital for their injuries. Seven children were in the residence at the time of the Dec. 1 shooting. RCPD officials have previously said the investigations remain active.
