Police raid Manhattan smoke shop in marijuana probe

By KMAN Staff on October 10, 2025 Local News, Manhattan
Authorities say a Manhattan smoke shop is under investigation for the illegal distribution of marijuana and THC products.
The Riley County Police Department executed a search warrant Thursday at Chill Vibes Smoke and Vape, in the 100 block of Sarber Lane, in what they say is part of a larger overall investigation that began earlier this year. Police say it is not linked to any recent enforcement by the Kansas Bureau of Investigation.

During the investigation, 40-year-old Al-Shawhati Rayd Mohomed-Hezam was arrested on charges of distributing greater than 450 grams of marijuana but less than 30 kilograms, along with two counts of distribution of THC products involving large quantities. He was booked into the Pottawatomie County Jail on a $50,000 bond and remained in custody as of Friday afternoon.

Police say the investigation is ongoing.
