    Officers filed a report for rape in Manhattan on Oct. 2, 2025 at approximately 7:45 p.m. A 19-year-old woman is listed as the victim and an unknown man was listed as the suspect. Due the nature of the crime reported, no additional information will be released. Anyone with information, contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward up to $1,000.

    Benigno Aquino Jr., 41, of Salina, was arrested on Oct. 2 at approximately 6:13 p.m. in the 1700 block of Fair Lane on a Riley County District Court warrant for probation violation. This arrest stems from original charges of possession of methamphetamine. Aquino was issued a total bond of $8,000 and remains confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.

    Cherlynn Rachel, 32, of Lawrence, was arrested on Oct. 2 at approximately 2:19 p.m. in the 1000 block of Seth Child Road on a Riley County District Court warrant for probation violation. This arrest stems from original charges of three counts of domestic battery. Rachel was issued no bond and remains confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.

    Pamela Hall, 20, of Manhattan, was arrested on Oct. 2 at approximately 1:08 p.m. in the 100 block of N. 4th Street on a Riley County District Court warrant for probation violation. This arrest stems from original charges of two counts of criminal threat and two counts of battery. Hall was issued a total bond of $5,000 and is no longer confined in the Riley County Jail.

    Officers filed a report of battery on a law enforcement officer in the 1000 block of Seth Child Road on Oct. 2 at approximately 12:04 p.m. A 20-year-old man was listed as the victim and a 35-year-old man was listed as the suspect. Wylee Schmit, 35, of Manhattan, was arrested for battery of a law enforcement officer on Oct. 2 at approximately 12:36 p.m. Schmit was issued a total bond of $6,000 and remains confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.
