A Manhattan man was arrested early Wednesday morning after officers responded to a report of a stolen vehicle involving a suspect known to the victim.

Officers with the Riley County Police Department filed a report of vehicle theft at approximately 1:40 a.m. on Oct. 22 in the 1900 block of Crescent Drive. An 85-year-old woman reported that a suspect she knew had stolen her 2002 Ford F-150.

Shortly after, at approximately 2:07 a.m., officers arrested Michael Brooks, 33, of Manhattan, in the 900 block of Humboldt Street. Brooks was taken into custody on multiple charges, including criminal deprivation of property, driving while suspended, possession of marijuana, interference with a law enforcement officer, and trafficking contraband into a correctional facility.

Brooks was issued a total bond of $7,500 and has since been released from the Riley County Jail.
