KANSAS CITY, Mo. — Kansas State made a second-half statement Thursday, topping Mississippi State 98-77 in the first round of the Hall of Fame Classic at the T-Mobile Center.

After tussling back and forth through the first half, the Wildcats led with their defense, smothering the Bulldogs while shooting 57.1% down the stretch.

K-State got another 30-plus point game from junior star point guard PJ Haggerty, ending the night shooting 50.7% from the field and 46.7% from 3.

The win keeps the Wildcats perfect this season, their first 5-0 start since the 2022-23 season.
