FORT RILEY — Rob Riggle, a marine, actor and comedian who grew up in the Sunflower State, appeared Friday on Fort Riley to share stories about his 23-year stint with the United States Marine Corps and ongoing entertainment career.

USO Kansas hosted the meet-and-greet event in Riley’s Community Center at 446 Seitz Drive.

“First of all, they were nice enough to invite me, so I’m very grateful for that,” Riggle said. “And I want to go to military bases. I want to spend time with people that are serving and veterans; it means a lot to me. Plus, I’ve driven by Fort Riley at least 100 times, and never got to come on base. So this is my first time to actually come on base, and it’s beautiful. It’s exactly what I hoped it would be.”
