    Officers filed a report for vehicle theft at approximately 3:12 a.m. on Nov. 3, 2025 in the 200 block of Northfield Drive in Manhattan. A 63-year-old woman was listed as the victim when it was reported 58-year-old male suspect known the to the victim took her 2017 Hyundai Sante Fe without permission. The total estimated loss associated with this case is $5,000. Anyone with information, contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward up to $1,000.

    John Swartz, 54, of Manhattan, was arrested at approximately 6:20 p.m. on Nov. 2 in the 3100 block of Anderson Ave. on two Riley County District Court warrants. This arrest stems from original charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia and battery. Swartz was issued a total bond of $8,000 and remains confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.

    Officers filed a report for violating a protection order and stalking at approximately 2:44 p.m. on Nov. 2 in Manhattan. A 26-year-old woman was listed as the victim and a 29-year-old man was listed as the suspect. Alfred Walls, 29, of Ellis, was arrested at approximately 4:12 p.m. in Manhattan. Walls was issued a total bond of $6,000 and remains confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.

    Darrin Melerine, 36, of Chalmette (La.), was arrested at approximately 12:47 a.m. on Nov. 1 in the 100 block of E. Poyntz Ave., on a Judicial District Parish of Pointe Coupee (La.) warrant for uniform criminal extradition act. He was issued no bond and remains confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.
