Warrant leads to arrest of Manhattan man accused of assaulting officer

A Manhattan man was taken into custody Wednesday afternoon on a warrant stemming from an incident reported earlier this year.

Riley County Police say officers originally filed a report on May 21 around 11:30 a.m. in the 7700 block of Stockdale Park Road for aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer and criminal threat.

On Nov. 19, officers arrested 82-year-old Edward Doyle in the 100 block of Courthouse Plaza on a Riley County District Court warrant related to those charges.

Doyle was issued a total bond of $15,000 and is no longer confined in the Riley County Jail.
