Bowling Green stuns K-State 82–66 at Bramlage Coliseum

K-State players huddle during a stoppage of play in Monday’s 82–66 loss to Bowling Green at Bramlage Coliseum. The Wildcats dropped their third straight game after a 5–0 start.

While “bowling” was a welcome outcome for Kansas State’s football team on Saturday, the same word carried a very different tone two days later. Bowling Green walked into Bramlage Coliseum and handed K-State men’s basketball an 82–66 defeat on Monday night.

The wire-to-wire upset snapped several long-standing home streaks and extended the Wildcats’ slide to three straight losses after a 5-0 start to the season. The Falcons (6-2) became the first MAC program in 10 tries to win in Manhattan and delivered K-State’s first home loss to a mid-major under head coach Jerome Tang.

“Those guys had a chip on their shoulder and they came in here to win a basketball game,” Tang said. “We looked like we just came to play. And that’s what happens when you don’t show up and you don’t bring it — you’re going to get beat.”
