The Riley County Police Department is investigating two separate theft reports involving forged checks at KS State Bank on Nov. 28.

The first report was filed around 11:39 a.m. in the 1000 block of Westloop Place. Bank staff told police an unknown suspect cashed a forged check, resulting in a loss of $2,500.

A second, similar incident was reported earlier that morning at 10:58 a.m. at the same location. In that case, an unknown suspect cashed another forged check, with a reported loss of $5,000.

Anyone with information about either incident is asked to contact the Riley County Police Department or Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Tips submitted through Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and may qualify the reporting party for a cash reward of up to $1,000.
