Officers filed a report of aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer and attempted aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer at approximately 3:25 p.m. on Dec. 21, 2025 in the 20000 block of Tuttle Creek Blvd. A 34-year-old man and a 25-year-old man were listed as the victims when it was reported a 22-year-old suspect drove his vehicle at officers and then struck a gate that hit the two officers. Ashton Troughton, 22, of Ogden, was arrested at approximately 4:20 p.m. in the 20000 block of Tuttle Creek Blvd on two counts of aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer and two counts of attempted aggravated assault of a law enforcement officer. Troughton was issued a total bond of $50,000 and remains confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.
Summer Carlson, 25, of Aberdeen (SD), was arrested at approximately 5:40 p.m. on Dec. 20 in the 1001 block of S. Seth Child Road on a Riley County District Court warrant on seven counts of harassment by telecom device, seven counts of interference with a law enforcement officer, seven counts of criminal false communication, seven counts of criminal threat and one count of stalking. Officers filed the initial report on July 3, 2025. Carlson was issued a total bond of $10,000 and remains confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.
Officers filed a report of burglary at approximately 1:48 p.m. on Dec. 14 in the 800 block of Pierre Street. A 75-year-old man was listed as the victim when it was reported an unknown suspect entered a shed and attempted to steal a bicycle. Jadin Bezdicek, 28, of Manhattan, was arrested at approximately 10:53 a.m. on Dec. 20 in the 300 block of N. 3rd Street for burglary. Bezdicek was issued a total bond of $5,000 and remains confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.
Officers responded to a report of a fatality crash at approximately 6:08 p.m. on Dec. 19 near Falcon Road and Madison Road in Riley. Kansas Highway Patrol responded and filed the crash report while RCPD officers assisted on crash scene. Please contact KHP for any further details (www.kansas.gov/khp-crashlogs/search.do).
Kenneth Scott, 65, of Manhattan, was arrested at approximately 1:24 p.m. on Dec. 19 near Fremont Street and N. Manhattan Avenue on a Riley County District Court warrant for probation violation. This arrest stems from original charges of unlawful possession of a controlled substance. Scott was issued no bond and remains confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.
