Officers responded to a report on an injury accident at approximately 3:12 p.m. on Dec. 28, 2025 at S. Seth Child Road and Fort Riley Blvd. Upon arrival, officers found a Dodge Ram 2500 driven by Jesus Porras-Sandoval, 27, of Manhattan, struck a Chevrolet Silverado 2500 driven by Anthony Capobianco, 27, of Ogden. Porras-Sandoval was transported to Via Christi for treatment and issued a citation for unsafe speed for prevailing conditions and for having no driver’s license.
Officers responded to a report of an injury accident at approximately 2:44 p.m. on Dec. 28 at mile marker 185 on Fort Riley Blvd. Upon arrival, officers found a 2009 Nissan Frontier driven by Heather Cunningham, 44, of Manhattan, and a 2014 Toyota Tundra, driven by Stephen Gerard, 62, of Manhattan, crashed into each other. Cunningham was transported to Via Christi for her injuries. Gerard and his two passengers, Cheryl Gerard, 63, of Manhattan, and Dean Gerard, 6, of Manhattan, were all transported to Via Christi for their injuries as well. Stephen Gerard was issued a citation for having no child safety restraints. Cunningham was issued a citation for unsafe speed for prevailing conditions.
Officers filed a report of theft at approximately 9:59 a.m. on Dec. 27 in the 100 block of Bluemont Ave. Walmart was listed as the victim when it was reported a suspect stole merchandise from the store over a three-month period. The estimated total loss associated with this case is $2,128.65.
Officers filed a report of possession of an opiate, opium, narcotic or certain stimulant; use/possess with intent to use drug paraphernalia and trafficking contraband into a correctional facility at approximately 2:55 p.m. on Dec. 26 near 15th Street and Fort Riley Blvd. Molly Meeks, 37, of Manhattan, was arrested at approximately 3:10 p.m. for possession of an opiate, opium, narcotic or certain stimulant; use/possess with intent to use drug paraphernalia and trafficking contraband into a correctional facility. Meeks was issued a total bond of $5,000 and is no longer confined in the Riley County Jail.
Officers filed a report of rape and sexual battery at approximately 8:15 p.m. on Dec. 25 in Manhattan. A 19-year-old woman was listed as the victim and a 21-year-old man, known to the victim, was listed as the rape suspect. A 19-year-old man, also known to the victim, was listed as the sexual battery suspect. Due to the nature of the crimes reported, no additional information will be released.
Richard Taylor, 38, of Manhattan, was arrested on a Riley County District Court warrant at approximately 11:17 p.m. on Dec. 24 for violating protection orders. Taylor was issued a total bond of $5,000 and remains confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.
Officers responded to a report of an injury accident at approximately 2:13 p.m. on Dec. 24 at Seth Child Road and Anderson Ave. Upon arrival, officers found a 2018 Chevy Equinox driven by Kenneth Martin, 74, of Milford, had run off the road and hit the guardrail for the overpass in the northbound lane of Seth Child Road. Martin was transported to Via Christi for minor injuries.
