The Riley County Police Department arrested two people Wednesday in connection with an investigation involving interference with law enforcement and the destruction or concealment of evidence.

Officers filed the initial reports Dec. 10 in the 900 block of Yuma Street. The case involved allegations of interfering with a law enforcement officer, concealing or destroying evidence in a felony investigation, and obstructing apprehension or prosecution.

Police first arrested 22-year-old Eli Smith of Manhattan around 7:05 p.m. near 10th Street and Pottawatomie Court. Smith was taken into custody on all listed charges. He was issued a total bond of $10,000 and remained confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of the report.

A short time later, officers arrested 24-year-old Joleann Killham of Manhattan around 7:57 p.m. in the 700 block of Allen Road. Killham faces the same charges and was also issued a total bond of $10,000. She too remained confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of the report.
