A Manhattan man was arrested twice Tuesday night on separate warrants and charges, according to the Riley County Police Department.
Police say Marcel McGill, 49, was first taken into custody around 10:03 p.m. Dec. 30 in the 700 block of Griffith Drive on a Riley County District Court warrant for failure to appear. That warrant stemmed from original traffic-related charges of improper passing on the right and expired or no registration. McGill received a total bond of $300 for that arrest.
Approximately an hour later, at 11:10 p.m. in the 1000 block of South Seth Child Road, McGill was arrested again — this time on significantly more serious charges. He was booked on nine counts of violating the offender registration act, four counts of aggravated violation of the offender registration act, and four counts of perjury.
McGill was issued no bond for the second arrest and remains confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of the report.
