    Officers filed a report for fraud at approximately 2:08 p.m. on Feb. 17, 2026 in the 100 block of Bluemont Avenue. A 35-year-old woman was listed as the victim when it was reported she transferred money to an unknown suspect who claimed she had missed jury duty and subsequently had a warrant for her arrest. The total estimated loss associated with this case is $1,000.

    Officers filed a report at approximately 2:05 p.m. on Feb. 17 in the 2400 block of Walden Lane for use/possess with intent to use drug paraphernalia into human body, possession of substance in KSA 65-4105(h), distribution or possess with intent to distribute heroin/fentanyl within 1000 feet of a school (>100 grams), distribute or possess with intent to distribute heroin/fentanyl within 1000 feet of a school (3.5-<100 grams), distribute certain stimulant (3.5-<100 grams) within 1000 feet of a school, distribute or possess with intent to distribute drug paraphernalia for illegal use, and possession of marijuana. Scott Marchand, 48, of Manhattan, was arrested in the 100 block of Courthouse Plaza for use/possess with intent to use drug paraphernalia into human body, possession of substance in KSA 65-4105(h), distribution or possess with intent to distribute heroin/fentanyl within 1000 feet of a school (>100 grams), distribute or possess with intent to distribute heroin/fentanyl within 1000 feet of a school (3.5-<100 grams), distribute certain stimulant (3.5-<100 grams) within 1000 feet of a school, distribute or possess with intent to distribute drug paraphernalia for illegal use, and possession of marijuana. Marchand was issued a total bond of $125,000 and is no longer confined in the Riley County Jail.

    Bailey Crumpton, 27, of Manhattan, was arrested at approximately 2 p.m. on Feb. 17 in the 100 block of Courthouse Plaza on a Geary County District Court warrant for probation violation. Crumpton was issued no bond and is no longer confined in the Riley County Jail.
