RCPD Report: 3/9/26

Westley Stewart, 39, of Manhattan, was arrested at approximately 10:57 p.m. on March 8, 2026 in the 1200 block of Fremont Street on a Geary County District Court warrant for probation violation. Steward was issued no bond and is no longer confined in the Riley County Jail.

Officers filed a report of a stolen vehicle at approximately 10:42 p.m. on March 8 in the 900 block of Moro. A 25-year-old man was listed as the victim when it was reported an unknown 22-year-old suspect stole his 2007 Ford Focus and ran into other parked vehicles, before ultimately crashing and abandoning the vehicle. The total estimated loss associated with this is case is greater than $1,000.

Officers filed a report of fraud at approximately 5:28 p.m. on March 8 in the 200 block of Firethorn Drive. A 48-year-old woman, American Airlines and Citibank were listed as victims when it was reported an unknown suspect hacked a credit card and used it to purchase gift cards, and then used reward points to purchase an Apple Watch. The estimated total loss associated with this case is $2,900.

Officers filed a report of theft of mislaid property at approximately 4:18 p.m. on March 8 in the 1100 block of Fremont Street. A 24-year-old man was listed as the victim when it was reported he lost his iPhone in the City Park area. The total estimated loss associated with this case is $1,100. Anyone with information, contact RCPD or the Manhattan Riley County Crime Stoppers. Using the Crime Stoppers service can allow you remain anonymous and could qualify you for a cash reward up to $1,000.

Officers filed a report for fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement officers, driving under the influence of drugs/alcohol, aggravated battery; DUI causing bodily harm, failure to stop at an accident, driving while suspended and not having vehicle liability insurance at approximately 3:36 a.m. on March 8 in the 700 block of Manhattan Avenue. A 19-year-old woman was listed as the victim and a known 22-year-old man was listed as the suspect. Mateo Hyman, 22, of Topeka, was arrested at approximately 3:40 a.m. for fleeing or attempting to elude law enforcement officers, driving under the influence of drugs/alcohol, aggravated battery; DUI causing bodily harm, failure to stop at an accident, driving while suspended and not having vehicle liability insurance. Hyman was issued a total bond of $20,000 and is no longer confined in the Riley County Jail.

Officers responded to a report of an injury accident at approximately 8:17 p.m. on March 6 in the 2200 block of Claflin Road. Upon arrival, officers found a 2003 Jeep Liberty driven by Cory Wrolson, 22, of Manhattan, had crashed into a 2015 Ford Fusion driven by Adelle Francis, 21, of Manhattan. An unknown passenger from the Ford Fusion was transported to Via Christi Hospital by Riley County EMS for minor injuries. Wrolson was issued a citation for inattentive driving.

Officers filed a report for criminal threat, violation of a protection order, assault/human trafficking, stalking and interference with a law enforcement officer at approximately 9:19 p.m. on March 6 in the 1900 block of College Heights Road. Jacob Underwood, 31, of Manhattan, was arrested for criminal threat, violation of a protection order, assault/human trafficking, stalking and interference with a law enforcement officer at approximately 1:18 a.m. on March 7. Underwood was issued a total bond of $20,000 and is no longer confined in the Riley County Jail.

Officers filed a report for theft of property or services at approximately 6:40 p.m. on March 6 in the 300 block of 16th Street. Evan Gottstein, 22, of Perry, was arrested at approximately 7:34 p.m. for theft of property or services. Gottstein was issued no bond and is no longer confined in the Riley County Jail.

Angel DeJesus Guzman, 23, of Manhattan, was arrested at approximately 3:24 p.m. on March 6 in the 100 block of 3rd Street on a Riley County District Court warrant for failure to appear, stemming from an original charge of DUI and no proof of insurance. Guzman was also arrested on a Manhattan Municipal Court warrant for probation violation, as well as a charge of operating a motor vehicle with a valid license. Guzman was issued a total bond of $7,250 and remains confined in the Riley County Jail at the time of this report.

Officers filed a report for possession of an opiate/opium/narcotic or certain stimulant, driving while a habitual violator and use/possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia into the human body at approximately 10:21 a.m. on March 6 in the 9300 block of Madison Road. Rhonda Rand, 55, of Manhattan, was arrested at approximately 10:36 p.m. for possession of an opiate/opium/narcotic or certain stimulant, driving while a habitual violator and use/possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia into the human body. Rand was issued a total bond of $6,000 and is no longer confined in the Riley County Jail.
