K-State Credit Union & Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Center “Student-Athlete of the Week”

Last weekend, Wamego girls’ wrestling continued its 2nd semester with a 3rd place finish at the Halstead Invitational. Pinning her way to a gold medal at 155 pounds was freshman Leolyn Karnowski.

Karnowski finished the tournament 3-0 with all pins in 62 seconds or less. In her first high school season, she’s undefeated at 22-0 and 20 wins by pinfall. Karnowski is currently the number one ranked wrestler at 155 pounds in the entire state of Kansas. Before starting her high school career, Karnowski competed at Freestyle Nationals in Fargo, North Dakota. She was also on the Red Raiders’ volleyball team this past fall.

Congratulations to Leolyn Karnowski of Wamego High School, the K-State Credit Union & Orthopaedic and Sports Medicine Center/KMAN “Student-Athletes of the Week!”
