Kansas Senator Roger Marshall (R-KS) recently introduced the bicameral and bipartisan Farmer First Fuel Incentives Act requiring the Treasury Department to restrict the eligibility of the 45Z Tax Credit to renewable fuels made only from domestically sourced feedstocks and extending the tax credit to make it a full ten-year credit. No. 23 Kansas State football will be without one of its top pass catchers for a couple of weeks after an injury sustained in the Wildcats’ 38-9 loss at BYU. Sophomore tight end Brayden Loftin left the game early after recording a catch for seven yards in Saturday’s loss. Loftin limped off the field and was attended to by the team’s training staff and did not return to the field for the rest of the game. Robert Bagget, 31, of Manhattan, was arrested on September 23, 2024, at approximately 1:49 PM in the 1100 block of Scenic Landing.  Bagget was arrested on the probable cause offenses of probation violation and interference with an LEO. The original charge in this matter was for criminal threat.  Total bond was set at $30,000. Bagget was confined at the time of this report.

County resident Michelle Campbell told commissioners at their Monday meeting she has been looking closely at the public records concerning McKee’s reimbursement requests and questions what she is finding. Dating back to November 2023, Campbell found a reimbursement McKee received for a KAC meeting. After looking at the KAC meeting minutes, Campbell discovered McKee was listed as absent from the meeting. Campbell also questioned a reimbursement for a laptop repair. The Riley County Police Department is investigating a reported case of a stolen motorcycle in Manhattan. RCPD officers filed a report of motor vehicle theft on Sunday at around 12:30 PM in the 1000 block of Osage Street where a 22-year-old male was the victim. His 2012 Suzuki motorcycle was stolen overnight by an unknown suspect, and the total loss associated with this report is approximately $6,000. The City of Manhattan recently announced that Martin Luther King Jr. Drive will be reduced to one lane starting on Monday, September 23rd for street repair work at the intersection with Fairchild Avenue. The northbound lane will be closed and the southbound lane will remain open with one-lane traffic control signage in place. No timetable for the construction was provided.
