More changes to the traffic control at the West Anderson project are expected this week. New striping will be installed beginning Tuesday, Feb. 28, and the public will begin fully using the temporary roads in place at the intersection of Anderson Avenue, Kimball Avenue and Scenic Drive later this week. Stop signs will be in place to control the flow of traffic. This traffic control will be in place for approximately 3 months to facilitate the demolition of the current intersection and the construction of a roundabout. A Manhattan man was sentenced to 18 years in the Department of Corrections for failing to provide complete information when he submitted to the Kansas Offender Registration Act. Jase Stanton, 29, was in the Riley County District Courthouse Monday afternoon. He was also scheduled to be sentenced for aggravated criminal sodomy. In June 2015, Riley County police officers said two victims, a 19-year-old man and a 22-year-old man, were involved in unwanted sexual activity with a man they had met at a Manhattan bar who invited them to his house where it was promised there would be women. A 24 year-old from Manhattan was arrested by Riley County Police this past weekend.  Friday evening,  Yiping Zhu, 24, reported she had been battered at her residence in the 1600 block of Hillcrest by an acquaintance.  Upon investigation,  Hongyu Shi, 24, was arrested for aggravated battery. Shi is currently confined on $20,000 bond. ### A 46 year-old woman reported her vehicle missing Friday morning. Barbara Flores told police that her Gray 1998 Dodge Ram panel van valued at $2,500 dollars was stolen from the 1300 block of Temple Lane. Equifest in Topeka, managed by Ann White of Pottawatomie County, drew large crowds throughout the weekend with a sell-out. Morgans, Friesians,  Gypsies, Paints, Draft Horses, Minis, donkeys and mules were just some of the breeds present at the Kansas Expocentre.  A variety of clinics, lectures, speakers, dances and dance lessons, ferrier contests, and trade shows were all part of the festivities . Riley County Firefighters responded to a structure fire in Ogden at around 11:38 pm Saturday. Riley County firefighters from the Ogden, Keats, Konza Valley, Hunters Island, Manhattan Fire Department and Ft. Riley stations were called to the fire at 201 Eleventh Street in Ogden.. It was reported the duplex was fully engulfed. MFD station 4 arrived first and knocked down the initial fire in the kitchen area. All the occupants were outside at the time of the fire.
