President Donald Trump wasted little time to authorize a slew of executive orders since officially taking office this week, and one of those orders has Kansas agriculturists anxious. For this weekend only, Manhattan may be home to the world’s largest dentist office. The sixteenth annual Kansas Mission of Mercy is expected to provide free dental services to more than 1,400 patients by the end of the clinic on Saturday evening. The National Guard Armory was rife with excitement on Friday morning as hundreds of patients waited for their turn to see one of the 143 volunteer dentists on staff. The newly completed terminal at Manhattan Regional Airport was overflowing with excitement on Thursday afternoon when a large crowd gathered in the luxurious new space for a ribbon cutting ceremony. The 42,000-square-foot terminal was completed on Dec. 23, 2016, after more than three years of construction funded mostly by the Federal Aviation Administration. After much debate Riley County commissioners approved 2-1 to equalize their salaries. Newly-elected District 2 Commissioner Marvin Rodriguez, who was started at a lower starting salary than previous commissioner Robert Boyd, made a motion late in Thursday’s meeting to make the pay for all three commissioners the same. Commission chairman Ron Wells seconded the motion. Commissioner Ben Wilson opposed. All three commissioners will now make $43,403.62 — an amount it froze for the 2017 budget in July. On Nov. 21, commissioners set the salary for Rodriguez at $39,643.78.

TOPEKA — The Kansas Department of Revenue says it’s resending about 380,000 tax forms after some taxpayers received forms that had incorrect information. The Lawrence Journal-World reports the department found on Monday that some of the 1099-G forms sent out for 2016 had incorrect refund amounts. The 1099-G form lists money that the tax filer received the preceding year in the form of state income tax refunds, credit forwards or offsets. It also includes money given to a checkoff program.
