St. George has been experiencing high nitrate levels for some time and has begun the process of designing a water treatment facility. Riley County public information officer Vivienne Leyva on Monday told county commissioners BG Consultants will start doing surveys of the Keats area throughout August as it prepares to design the new sanitary sewer collection system, lift station and wastewater treatment facility. Riley County Police filed a report on Sunday after a man reported his moped was stolen. Officers filed the report just before 2:30 p.m. in the 800 block of Kearney Street after a 20-year-old male reported his 2002 Honda moped was stolen by an unknown subject from his backyard. Roger Seymour, whose company owns and rents properties in Manhattan, spoke during public comment at the Manhattan City Commission meeting this week. (K-State Athletics) – In front of the Eiffel Tower on Friday (Aug. 9) afternoon in Paris, Erik Kynard received his gold medal in a reallocation ceremony for his performance at the 2012 London Olympics. In London, a 21-year-old Kynard cleared a height of 2.33m/7-7.75 but was surpassed by Russian Ivan Ukhov with a clearance of 2.38m/7-9.75, two inches higher, for gold.
