KANSAS CITY, Kansas-The second trial of a man charged with fatally shooting a 22-year-old woman in Kansas City, Kansas, has ended in another hung jury. Wyandotte County jurors deadlocked Thursday after hearing the case against 29-year-old Antoine Fielder. He is charged with murder in the June 2015 shooting death of Kelsey Ewonus. The single mother of a 1-year-old son was found in a car parked a few blocks north of the University of Kansas Hospital. KANSAS CITY, Kansas-Authorities say the death toll has grown to four from a stolen vehicle crash in Kansas City, Kansas, that ended with a survivor taking a vehicle from a good Samaritan. Police identified the fourth victim in a new release Thursday as 18-year-old Cory Thornburgh, of Shawnee. Also killed in Sunday’s crash was 20-year-old Cameron Shafer, of Kansas City, Kansas, 20-year-old Hayden Gottman, of Lenexa, and 18-year-old Joshua Lindsey, of Overland Park. LEAVENWORTH-Police say a suspect was fatally shot in northeast Kansas as an officer was investigating a vehicle theft. Leavenworth police Chief Patrick Kitchens says the officer had responded Tuesday night to the theft report. The officer was at the scene about 10 minutes before reporting that shots had been fired. Kitchens says other officers then responded and that the suspect was pronounced dead. Kitchens provided no other details, including the name and race of the suspect. EL DORADO-Authorities say a third-grade Wichita teacher has been arrested on suspicion of being a drug dealer after a two-month investigation. The Wichita Eagle (http://bit.ly/2tLYZBG ) reports that records show the 48-year-old teacher was booked into the Sedgwick County Jail on Tuesday. Sedgwick County Sheriff’s Lt. Lin Dehning says she was arrested on suspicion of seven counts of cocaine distribution. She is being held on $57,500 bond. Wichita School District spokeswoman Susan Arensman says she is a teacher at Enders Open Magnet Elementary School. The school’s website lists her as a third-grade teacher there.

The Riley county Police Department  and emergency personnel from the Manhattan Fire Department and Riley County EMS conducted a joint exercise for an active shooter. Updated 6 am Friday: Northview Pool will re-open as staffing allows following pool employees experiencing chlorine exposure Wednesday afternoon. Eight employees were transported to Via Christi Hospital with skin irritation and respiratory issues after an accidental release of excess chlorine into the pool during a heat break in which only lifeguards were in the pool. The 1st Infantry Division’s 1st Armored Brigade Combat Team formally welcomed their new leader on Wednesday. Colonel Charles S. Armstrong took command of the brigade in a ceremony held at Fort Riley’s Cavalry Parade Field. He replaces Colonel Timothy C. Hayden, who took command of the unit on June 26, 2015. The unit will also uncase its colors, signifying the “Devil” brigade’s recent return from South Korea, where over 3,700 soldiers had been deployed.
