TOPEKA — Authorities say four federal agents suffered non-life-threatening injuries after being shot while trying to make an arrest at a Topeka motel. Police say two U.S. marshals and an FBI agent were shot and suffered non-life-threatening injuries Saturday night in Topeka. A fourth federal agent also suffered the same injuries, but it was not immediately clear to which agency the officer is assigned. All four were taken to hospitals. WIBW-TV reports that the four agents descended on the Country Club Motel shortly before 10 p.m. Saturday and were trying to locate an unidentified suspect. TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) A 24-year-old Topeka man faces charges accusing him of dragging a police officer during a traffic stop. The Topeka Capital-Journal reports that Dyllon Alan Tucker is charged with aggravated kidnapping and other charges stemming from the incident April 14. Authorities said the officer stopped an SUV driven by Tucker, who then assaulted the officer and drove away, dragging the officer who had her arm in the car. JOHNSON, Kan. (AP) A 45-year-old Colorado woman has died in a crash in southwestern Kansas. The Kansas Highway Patrol says Brenda Lasley of Springfield, Colorado, died Friday afternoon in the two-vehicle head-on crash in Stanton County. The patrol says the accident occurred when the vehicle Lasley was in crossed the center line and collided with a semi pulling a trailer. The Hutchinson News reports the semi driver was taken to a hospital for injuries sustained in the crash.

Claire McCaskill says an election official had no authority to unilaterally modify a federal voter registration form to require proof-of-citizenship documents to register to vote in Kansas, Alabama and Georgia. The Kansas Department of Health and Environment has rescinded a boil water advisory for the public water supply for the University Park Water District located in Riley County. The advisory was issued because of a loss of pressure. Inadequate pressure may result in a loss of chlorine residuals and bacterial contamination. Kansas State University has penned athletic director John Currie through 2022. The agreement extends Currie’s contract two years through June 30, 2022, with his annual salary remaining unchanged at $775,000.
