Updated 2:15 p.m. Thursday: The jury in the trial of a man at the center of a shooting in Aggieville, has come back with a verdict. Jurors in the trial of Mark Self Jr. found the 31-year-old Manhattan man guilty of attempted voluntary manslaughter and aggravated weapons violation by a convicted felon. Sentencing is set for March seventh. The jury trial began Monday and went into deliberations at about 10:30 Thursday morning–coming back with a verdict two and a half hours later. After more than a decade of serving as Executive Director of the Governor’s Military Council, John Armbrust of Manhattan is resigning–although he’ll serve in the position through April. Armbrust announced on KMAN’s “In Focus” Thursday morning that he turned in his resignation Wednesday. Officers with the Riley County Police Department arrested Edward Houston Jr., 49, of Junction City, Kansas on February 3, 2016 at approximately 11:50 AM while at the Riley County Police Department. Houston was arrested on a warrant from Geary County, Kansas for the offense of violation of a bond condition. National Signing Day did not yield any significant surprises for Bill Snyder and Kansas State, who announced the addition of 22 players Wednesday afternoon. After suffering the program’s first losing season since 2008, K-State’s recruiting slipped in the national rankings of many outlets, landing 76th according to Rivals.
