A Manhattan man was taken to a Topeka Hospital following an accident on I-70 Saturday afternoon. Charles Davis, 53, was taken to Stormont Vail following the accident on westbound I-70, 1/4 mile west of Wabaunsee Road on I-70. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Davis was driving a 2000 Pontiac Grand Prix eastbound and for an unkown reason left the road and struck the guard rail. The accident was reported at 4:15 p.m. Saturday. Davis was wearing a seatbelt.

TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) A Kansas district court may block the state from changing its school funding system while a lawsuit regarding the system is pending. The court released an order announcing it may intervene to protect the status quo as it decides a case determining whether Kansas is funding education at constitutionally appropriate levels. The court will hold a hearing on the issue May 7th.

A large fire, starting from an electrical short, reportedly happened on Friday evening. Riley County Fire Chief, Pat Collins informed KMAN the fire went from about 2:30 p.m. until 8 p.m. Wabaunsee and Geary counties assisted with the 300-400 acre fire.  One home was threatened during the blaze. Saturday was full of events in the Aggieville/City Park area here in Manhattan.  The first activity was the “What Would Johnny Do?” event in the park. Manhattan Parks and Recreation staff members hosted the event to answer questions about the City Park Master Plan.  This plan was adopted in 2006, but will likely be updated in the coming years. The event concluded with a walking tour of the park. The 37th Annual St. Patrick’s Day Celebration was held in the Aggieville area.  This event has historically always been held prior to the actual holiday, which is on Tuesday this year.…

The Rock Creek Mustangs have advanced to the Championship Game of the Class 4A Division II Boys State Basketball Tournament after defeating Wichita Trinity 86-71 Friday night in Semifinal action at Hartman Arena in Park City. The Mustangs will face Holcomb for the State title at 6:15 p.m. Saturday in a game that can be heard on our sister station Hot Country B 104.7.
