Fentanyl-related deaths amongst children are on the rise in Kansas, officials said Monday. The State Child Death Review Board released its annual report, revealing what officials said was “a troubling rise in drug-related deaths” among Kansas children aged birth to 17. In 2022, the number of such deaths increased to 16, up from 11 in 2021, highlighting a “significant and alarming trend” associated with fentanyl, according to a news release from the office of Kansas Attorney General Kris Kobach. The Museum of Art and Light hosted its inaugural gala Saturday night for business leaders and members of the community, which served as the opening showcase for Manhattan’s new state-of-the-art space. Kansas State football fans on Saturday evening packed the northwest corner of the stadium and sprinkled in throughout the planned gold-out to watch their 18th-ranked Wildcats win a 31-28 thriller over Colorado in the first matchup between the two old Big 8 rivals since 2010.
