KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) Mourners will gather to remember a Muslim teenager who was run down and killed in a crash that was being investigated as a possible hate crime. Thirty-four-year-old Ahmed H. Aden, of Kansas City, was charged Friday with first-degree murder and armed criminal action in the crash that killed 15-year-old Abdisamad Sheikh-Hussein at the at Somali Center of Kansas City. Funeral services for Abdisamad are set for 1 p.m. Saturday at the Islamic Society of Greater Kansas City. Farmers and ranchers from throughout the state of Kansas met in Manhattan for the Kansas Farmers Union State Convention. The three day event was held at the Four Points by Sheraton. Speakers included National Geographic Photographer, Jim Richardson and Director of USDA’s Grain Inspection Packers and Stockyards Administration, Larry Mitchell. The convention began on Thursday and included discussions about a variety of topics, such as water for the future of Kansas, building a successful food co-op, family farm advocacy training, and farm and ranch succession planning. An enclosed trailer was reported stolen from a local business recently. The Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Department reported, that around the 23rd or 24th of November, a trailer was taken from a business located at 809 Levee Drive in Manhattan. The trailer is a 2009 H&H enclosed style model, with tandem axles.  It’s seven feet in width and 14 feet in length, and is white in color.
