Police in Riley County arrested Jeremy Spaur, 31, of Manhattan on October 15, 2015 at approximately 3:40 PM for the offenses of motion to revoke probation and failure to appear listed on two warrants. Original offense for these warrants were noted as being operating a vehicle not equipped with an ignition interlock device and use or possession with intent to use drug paraphernalia. WICHITA, Kan. (AP) Authorities say a man was shot to death in a moving vehicle in Wichita. According to Lt. James Espinoza, the victim and two suspects were passengers in a car being driven by a woman Thursday afternoon. Espinoza said police believe the victim was sitting in the front seat and the suspects were sitting in the back when the suspects shot the victim. The victim, whose identity has not been released, was taken to Wesley Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead. The suspects fled the scene, and were considered armed and extremely dangerous. WICHITA, Kan. (AP) A 22-year-old man accused of threatening to storm the Sedgwick County Courthouse and kill law enforcement officers has pleaded guilty. Samuel McCrory pleaded guilty Thursday to one count of criminal threat and three counts of criminal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon as part of a plea agreement. He was also ordered to surrender his guns and to enter an anger management program. Prosecutors say McCrory posted the threats on July 30 on Facebook in reference to the trial of Kyler Carriker. McCrory is scheduled to be sentenced Dec. 1.

HUTCHINSON, Kan. (AP) Thanks to good weather and popular concerts, the Kansas State Fair this year had its highest attendance since 1995. Fair officials announced Thursday that 369,322 attended the fair in September. That beat the previous high of 361,647 in 1995. The Hutchinson News reports it’s unknown if attendance was the highest in the fair’s 102-year-history because audited attendance counts didn’t begin until 1978. Updated 1 p.m. Friday: KMAN was able to speak with Junction City Police Chief Tim Brown regarding the plea: BOSTON (AP) An 80-year-old man has pleaded guilty to running a massive marijuana-dealing and money-laundering operation with a Junction City connection. The Boston Globe reports (http://bit.ly/1MGmnE6 ) Marshall Dion is scheduled to be sentenced on Feb. 11 after pleading guilty Thursday under an agreement with prosecutors. With policing being more closely observed since the recent events in Ferguson, Mo., Baltimore, Md., and in New York City, Riley County Police Department Director Brad Schoen told county commissioners Thursday morning that he’s taken preemptive measures to make sure community trust is strong. NEWTON, Kan. (AP) Authorities have identified a 63-year-old man who died in an apartment fire in Newton. Newton police say Bruce Rempel died Tuesday night after a fire broke out in his apartment. According to Lt. Bryan Hall, police responded to a report of smoke in the apartment and were told there was a man inside. Police say they tried to rescue Rempel, but were pushed back by heavy smoke and flame when they opened his door.
