KANSAS CITY, Kan.-After a sloppy first half, play picked up in the second half of Saturday’s Kansas State Spring Football game held at Sporting Park, the home of Major League Soccer’s Sporting KC club a move that was made necessary due to the ongoing construction of the new Vanier Football Complex at Bill Snyder Family Stadium. Today’s game between the Royals and the Chicago White Sox at U.S. Cellular Field has been postponed due to rain. The two teams were tied 2-2 in the 9th inning of Friday night’s game when that contest was suspended. Kansas City and Chicago will resume the suspended game on Sunday at 1:10 p.m. and after its conclusion they will play the regularly scheduled game. Saturday’s rained out contest will be made up at a later date.

(AP) The FBI says it was a Kansas man who died after driving a car through a gate and into the parking lot of the National Weather Service on the campus of the University of Oklahoma. The FBI said in a news release Friday that Allen Rouse of Wichita was the only person in the car which burned after coming to a stop in the parking lot on Thursday.

One night after a benches-clearing brawl led to five ejections, the Royals and White Sox were tied at 2 when Friday’s game was suspended by rain heading into the ninth inning. The opener of the three-game set at Baylor Ballpark will resume on Saturday at 3 p.m., with the second game of the set to start approximately 45 minutes after the conclusion of the first. Pierson McAtee, a standout player for Manhattan High School’s Boys Basketball team has announced he will walk on at Kansas State this Fall. McAtee, a senior at MHS made the announcement Friday on his Twitter account. The 6’6″ Forward was All-Centennial League as he helped to lead the Tribe to its first league regular season title since 2008. McAtee before deciding to play for the Wildcats had also been considering Washburn and Missouri State.
