Black Friday is apparently no longer the highlight of the Christmas shopping season–at least not for a couple of Manhattan businesses. RadioShack of Manhattan Co-owner Frank Beer says the retail market is ever-changing, with his store open Thursday. Beer says his business did okay Thursday, although it changes the dynamic on Friday–meaning mid to late morning is more the time to shop as the Thursday shoppers get some rest. The Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a residential day time burglary that occurred this past Tuesday sometime between the hours of 7:45 a.m. and 4:15 p.m. The residence is located in the 26,000 block of Diamond Road in rural St.Marys. The suspects in this matter are believed to have come to the residence during the daylight hours. They gained entry into the residence and stole items valued at about $2,000. Some of the reported stolen items were a Panasonic 42 inch flat screen TV, a Westinghouse 22 inch flat screen TV,  a DVD player, jewelry and other miscellaneous items.…

For the second straight day the Kansas State Women’s Basketball team saw a game scheduled for the Hardwood Tournament of Hope in Puerta Vallarta, Mexico canceled due to a facility conflict. Wednesday’s scheduled game against Santa Clara was also canceled. The Wildcats won their lone game of the tournament on Tuesday against UTEP 72-43. The 4-0 Wildcats will next be in action on December 4 for a 7 p.m. game against UT-Arlington at Bramlage Coliseum.

LAHAINA, Hawaii (AP)– Pittsburgh opened the Maui Invitational by winning a game it was supposed to and lost in embarrassing fashion in the semifinals. The Panthers closed out their trip to paradise by playing their best game of the season.
