An investigation into last weekend’s water rescue at Tuttle Creek Lake has been concluded by the Kansas Department of Wildlife, Parks, and Tourism. Director of Information Services Ron Kaufman says the case is being regarded as an accident, with Clark Linders on his airboat in the narrow upper part of the cove where there are lots of trees. Kaufman says Linders glanced down for a moment and when he looked up he was heading toward a tree. He tried to turn quickly but the side of the hull struck the tree, throwing him into the water. Update: 6:30 p.m. Thursday: Shortly after 11:30 a.m. Thursday the Riley County Police Department received a 911 call in reference to a domestic violence incident in the 600 block of Yuma Street Manhattan, Kansas. The reporting party stated that a female had been stabbed multiple times. Officers responded to the area and located a 27 year old female at the Manhattan Public Library who had multiple puncture wounds to her neck and face. A 77-year-old Blue Rapids woman was taken to the hospital following a one vehicle accident in northern Riley County early Wednesday afternoon. According to the Kansas Highway Patrol, Pansy Randolph was injured when the 2006 Cadillac DTS passenger car she was driving was northbound on highway 77, went left of center and left the roadway, entering the west ditch and striking a guard rail. The vehicle overturned and came to rest on the passenger side. The accident occurred at 12:15 p.m. about a half mile south of Randolph. Pansy Randolph was wearing a seat belt. CONWAY SPRINGS, Kan. (AP) An earthquake with a preliminary magnitude of 4.8 has shaken parts of Kansas and Oklahoma. The U.S. Geological Survey says the quake struck around 3:40 p.m. Wednesday. It had an epicenter about 8 miles south of Conway Springs, which is a town of about 1,200 people about 30 miles southwest of Wichita. It wasn’t immediately clear how much damage the quake may have caused. The southern part of Kansas has been experiencing an upsurge in earthquakes this year. A panel commissioned by Kansas Gov.
