The Junction City Police Department is attempting to locate three juveniles, who may be involved with vehicle burglaries reported since Wednesday night. JCPD received a report the three juveniles had fled placement at New Directions on West 14th St at approximately 7:46 p.m. Wednesday. They are identified as Caleb Bingham, 17,described as a  white male 5’9″ tall, weighing 168 pounds, with brown hair and brown eyes;  Aaron Cellers, 16, a white male, 6’2″ tall, weighing 140 pounds with brown hair and brown eyes;  and  Gage Trager , 15, who is 5’11” , weighing 150 pounds with black hair and brown eyes. Riley County Police officers arrested Ross Meuli, 27, of Ogden for the offense of criminal threat on Wednesday. Meuli was arrested in the 300 block of Walnut Street in Ogden, after he made comments threatening harm to city employees. Meuli was given a bond of $7,000.00 and is no longer confined.

Recent rainfall has Tuttle Creek Lake rising. The normal lake level is 1075.00 according to the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. As of Thursday morning the lake was at a level of 1105.18, a rise of 30.18 feet. Brian McNulty, Operation Project Manager with the USACE, spoke with KMAN on Wednesday, where he shared that one of the lakes purposes is to control flooding. The bleak budget situation in Kansas continues, and now a crippled education fund in Kansas could be facing more cuts. Kansas legislators continue to work in an overtime session, and the Senate has not passed a proposal that would increase sales tax to fill a four hundred million dollar gap. If the budget is not balanced, Governor Sam Brownback would be forced to make cuts to all public services between six and seven percent, which would mean a cut of one hundred ninety seven million dollars to education.
