Each year, Kansas libraries promote early literacy during Kansas Reads to Preschoolers Week. Manhattan Public Library was chosen as this year’s kickoff location. The special event was held Tuesday morning and featured a dog theme. Library staff members read two stories-“Bark George” and “Dog in Boots”. Kansas First Lady, Mary Brownback attended the event and ready the featured book-“Dog’s Colorful Day”. The book was a about a small dog that receives a variety of colorful spots throughout the day. Coming out of a 48-10 win over Iowa State, the 20th-ranked Sooners (8-2, 5-2 Big 12 Conference) saw backups Trevor Knight and Kendal Thompson get action against the Cyclones after starter Blake Bell was injured early in the second quarter. Knight took over and led the offense on five scoring drives, including a 56-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter, and he finished 8-of-14 passing for 61 yards also rushing for 123 yards. Stoops…

KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) The Kansas City Chiefs only intend to lose to the Denver Broncos once, and that thought goes beyond the rematch between AFC West rivals in two weeks at Arrowhead Stadium.
