As the USD 383 school board met for their fall retreat, two items were slated for the agenda. First up was the issue of the future of the College Hill Preschool. Junction City Police recently released details regarding an armed robbery that took place Saturday morning. Around 10 a.m., an unknown male entered the Check N Go business, located at 1009 West 6th Street in Junction City, and robbed the business of an undisclosed amount of money.The man reportedly showed a gun, demanded money, and left after receiving it. No one was harmed during the incident. Junction City Police are asking anyone with information about this incident to call 785-762-5912. “We are the fabric of America”. This statement was made by National Commander, Daniel Dellinger Wednesday morning, during his visit to American Legion Post 17. This stop was part of his three day tour of Kansas. Commander Dellinger made ten visits prior to the visit in Manhattan, and had three more stops on his list, including Topeka VA Hospital. The Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office is still seeking information into the whereabouts of Jeremiah Joseph Perry, 21 year old male of Westmoreland. Perry was last seen by family and friends around the end of March 2013 in the Kansas City area. Perry was also believed to have been in the Ohio area. Perry has been confirmed to been in Tioga North Dakota until April 12th 2013. While there he sought employment but was not hired. Perry’s location from that point is not known. A motor vehicle accident at Seth Child and Gary Avenue at about 7:40 Wednesday morning was causing a bit of a traffic tie-up, although a Riley County Police dispatcher indicates the accident scene was being cleaned up. Sgt. Brad Ingalls tells KMAN the accident at Gary and Seth Child appears to be an injury accident, which involves a motorcycle. No other details are known at this time as officers are still on scene. Ingalls adds there have been five accidents this morning, with the other four out of the five confirmed non-injury accidents.
