There were no reported injuries Monday morning after an apartment building caught fire on the southwest side of town. Just before 7 am., the report of a structure fire in the 2500 block of Stagg Hill Rd. came in, and 17 Manhattan Fire Department firefighters responded. Upon arrival, crews found smoke coming out of the top floor of the three-story, 12-unit building. They searched the building and extinguished the fire within 15 minutes. MANHATTAN, Kan. (AP) — Kansas State and women’s basketball coach Jeff Mittie have agreed to a new five-year contract through the 2028-29 season. Wildcats athletic director Gene Taylor announced the deal Friday. The financial terms were not immediately available.
