TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) The state Department of Administration has developed proposals for razing one state office building near the Kansas Statehouse and selling two others. The Topeka Capital-Journal reports that Secretary of Administration Jim Clark has scheduled a Jan. 9 meeting with area legislators to discuss the plans for the Docking, Landon and Eisenhower office buildings. Clark says he will brief the lawmakers on proposals to raze the Docking building and sell the other two. The Docking building is named for Robert Docking, governor from 1967-1975. Former Kansas State Basketball player Luis Colon and his Girlfriend were injured in a home invasion at their residence in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. According to the Ft. Lauderdale Sun-Sentinel, the 27-year old Colon and 24-year old Elyse Ehlers were tied up and then pistol-whipped by burglars during an altercation early Monday at their home located in Ft. Lauderdale’s downtown area. The couple were able to leap from their second floor balcony to get help according to the Sun-Sentinel. Update 9:10 a.m. Thursday: The Geary County Sheriff has released the name of the duck hunter who drowned after falling through ice at Milford lake at 7:42 Tuesday morning. The victim has been identified as Thomas Hedrick, 31. No further information about Hedrick has been released at this time but officials say he was a Fort Riley soldier. Fort Riley authorities indicate Thomas Leeman Hedrick III was a Specialist with the Aviation Brigade, and was in construction maintenance repair. PHOENIX (AP) Michigan coach Brady Hoke says quarterback Devin Gardner is still slowed by a turf toe injury. Hoke says if the Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl was on Monday, true freshman Shane Morris would take snaps for the Wolverines against Kansas State. The coach says Gardner, who is wearing a protective boot, would have to practice by Wednesday to play in Saturday night’s game. Hoke says Gardner had a setback and met with doctors last Friday.
