Eight individuals were taken into custody between October 30 and November 1. Among those arrested were 19-year-old Jayda Denice Nelson and 22-year-old Chinel Abigale Williams, both of Fort Riley, who were booked around 2 a.m. Saturday for disorderly conduct involving fighting at 1100 Moro Street. By Emma Loura Former Manhattan chiropractor Clark Petersen was sentenced to 32 years in prison Friday morning for 51 sex crimes, including rape, against 16 patients. A Riley County District Court jury in August found Petersen, 66, guilty of four counts of rape, 40 counts of aggravated sexual battery, four counts of sexual battery, one count of lewd and lascivious behavior, one count of attempted rape and one count of attempted aggravated criminal sodomy. A Manhattan is behind bars after following a Thursday morning incident that led to multiple felony charges. According to the Riley County Police Department, 30-year-old Nathan Bell is charged with aggravated assault, two counts of domestic battery, two counts of mistreatment of a dependent adult and two counts of criminal damage to property. The victim in the case is a 65-year-old woman. Bell was issued a total bond of $48,000 and remained in custody as of Friday’s arrest report.
