The Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office continues to seek information on the driver and vehicle involved in a fatality accident on October 28 at about 12:09 a.m.  Konley L. Harding, 21, of Manhattan was struck and died as a result of this accident.  The vehicle has been described as a light colored SUV type vehicle.  Sheriff’s Detectives have identified a vehicle of interest that was in the area at the time of this accident.  This vehicle was on highway 24, and travelled South on K-99 in Wamego.  If you have any information call the Pottawatomie County Sheriff’s Office at 785-457-3353.

The Manhattan Christian College volleyball team received several awards at the NCCAA National Awards Banquet in Kissimmee, Florida.  Head Coach Lauren Sanders was named the National Coach of the Year.  Coach Sanders had picked up her 200th career victory in the Regional Tournament at the end of October.   Sanders was selected from among the eight nominees from across the nation.  Kylie Rupe was one of 12 players named 1st Team All-American and Alyssa Strain and Paige Mortensen were named 2nd Team All-American.

The former Chiefs coach   now the Pittsburgh Steelers offensive coordinator   says he’s trying to treat Monday night’s matchup between his former employer and his new one like just another game. Haley was fired by the Chiefs with three weeks left in the 2011 season. He insists he’s moved on and has no extra incentive to beat Kansas City. TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) A 49-year-old Topeka man has been convicted of attacking employees at a TV station after he was told it would not report a story he wanted covered. The Topeka Capital-Journal reports Ray Anthony Miles was found guilty Thursday of multiple charges stemming from the May 23 incident at the offices of WIBW-TV. Miles went to the station to request coverage of a problem he was having with the Department of Veterans Affairs. TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) Gov. Sam Brownback says Kansas will have a federally run health insurance exchange, after he declined to support Insurance Commissioner Sandy Praeger’s application for a state-federal partnership. Brownback had said months ago he would wait until after Tuesday’s election before moving forward on health care. He announced his decision Thursday after meeting with Praeger, who sought the governor’s signature on a letter of support for a state-federal exchange. TOPEKA, Kan. (AP) Kansas Secretary of State Kris Kobach says he wants to make it illegal for people to take photographs of completed election ballots. The Wichita Eagle reports current state law prohibits election workers from taking pictures of ballots but there is no law concerning individuals shooting photos of their own ballots. The practice has become more widespread because people want to post their ballots on social media sites. Kobach says social media and photo-altering software have made the issue much more complicated but he plans to introduce legislation in the next session to make such pictures illegal. He…

SALINA, Kan. (AP) A central Kansas man in prison for killing his wife and trying to kill his sister-in-law has been ordered to pay thousands of dollars in legal bills when he is released. On Wednesday, a Saline County judge ruled Michael Paulson will be responsible for more than $8,200 to the Board of Indigent Defense Services, more than $18,000 to the Crime Victim Fund and nearly $9,000 for court costs.
