Just after 3 p.m., the Topeka Police Department received a 911 call reporting a suspect connected to an armed carjacking earlier in the day was in the area of 16th and Harrison St. Police located Terrell Hayes-Osby, who then fled on foot and was chased west on 16th Street across Topeka Blvd. At one point, Hayes-Osby reportedly fired at officers, with four officers returning fire. Kyle Hodges, 28, of St. George was arrested in the 1000 block of South Seth Child on April 18, 2024, at approximately 11:25 AM. Hodges was arrested on a Riley County District Court warrant for failure to appear. The original charge in this matter was for aggravated assault x2 and telephone harassment. Total bond was set at $15,000. Hodge was confined at the time of this report.
