Post officials will conduct a 9/11 Commemoration Ceremony at 10 a.m. Sept. 11 at the Global War on Terrorism Monument in front of the U.S. Cavalry Museum. The purpose of the ceremony is to honor and remember those who were killed on the 11th of September 2001 as well as recognize the sacrifice of Soldiers who defend our freedom by rededicating the GWOT Monument to which names are added each fall. The Kansas Department of Transportation has announced a repair project on westbound US-24 over the Big Blue River Bridge at the east city limits of Manhattan in Pottawatomie County. Eastbound US-24 will remain open in that location and is not included in this project. Work will take place during daylight hours, Monday through Friday. The project began earlier this week. Traffic was reduced to one lane over the westbound US-24 Bridge and will remain this way throughout the project duration. The Manhattan Ogden school board had their first meeting since school started and the year has started off well according to Board President Dave Colburn. The board went through a report to review what is happening at the schools, as construction is winding down. Kaitlynn Pelger had a double-double with 11 kills and 10 blocks as the K-State volleyball team swept Missouri State 25-19, 25-22, 25-15 on Wednesday night at Ahearn Fieldhouse.  The Cats blocked the fifth-most balls in a three-set match in school history with 16, as Alex Muff added six stuffs.  Muff and Lilla Porubek each added eight kills, while Caitlyn Donahue dished out 36 assists.  The Bears (3-5) were led by 10 kills from Christine McCarthy.
